Recipes for chicken drumsticks in slow cooker?
I need some recipes for chicken drumsticks in a slow cooker. I usually cook them then take the meat off then put them in the sauce. I usually use jar or packet sauces. But I would like to make something different. It has to be suitable for small children. And not cost alot of money.
Thanks.
Thanks, I am going to try the Thai chicken this weekend as I have most of the ingredients-without the ginger so will see if it still works
When I do shopping next week I am going to try the sticky chicken, they sound great!! and so yummy

Toss the legs in the crockpot w/ a sliced onion and a bottle of BBQ sauce. Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.

You can also toss legs in, then add a dry packet of chicken gravy mix, a dry packet of Italaian salad dressing mix, and a dry packet of Ranch dressing mix. Sprinkle those on top, add 1/2 cup of water. LOW for 4-6 hours toget a yummy chicken and gravy. Serve gravy over mashed taters or steamed rice or egg noodles.

Lemonade Chicken
4-6 pieces of chicken
1 large can frozen lemonade, thawed
3 Tbsp. Brown sugar
4 Tbsp. Ketchup
2 Tbsp. Vinegar (I used red wine vinegar)
2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
2 Tbsp. Cold water
Arrange chicken pieces in crockpot. Combine lemonade, brown sugar, vinegar and ketchup. Pour over the chicken. Cover. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. When done, remove chicken from the crockpot. Pour the liquid into a saucepan, skimming the fat; bring to thr boil. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water, reduce the temp on the saucepan, whisk in the cornstarch mixture. Stir until thickened. Pour sauce over the chicken and serve with hot rice.

Sandra asks…
can you substitute the meat from chicken drumsticks for recipes that call for boneless skinless chicken?
Yes/NO?
Would you approach cooking this meat the same as you would boneless skinless chicken say if i were using it in a chicken pasta recipe?
Thanks

guitarlessons answers:
Yes, you can subsitute the meat from chicken drumsticks in recipes that call for boneless, skinless chicken. Usually those recipes are referring to breast meat rather than any other part of the chicken.
Like someone else already said, stripping the meat from thighs would be a lot easier than doing the same with drumsticks. Of course, if you already have the drumsticks, go for it.
One thing that you may want to do is to slightly reduce the amount of fat that the recipe calls for as dark meat has more saturated fat than white meat. You may also be surprised to find that other than the fat difference, dark meat has more vitamins, zinc and omegas 3 & 6!

I’m looking for a recipe for drumstick cheesecake?
This cheesecake tastes exactly like the old fashion drumsticks,an sugar cone with vanilla ice cream inside topped with chocolate and nuts.
